Hello, welcome to the place where I present Red Alert 2 maps for viewing and download.
This project started as a followup of XWIS QuickMatch renovation in 2006. A few more maps were added to the map pool and activity got a nice burst. Many people liked the new maps, but most of them had been encountered before so there wasn't that much adaption.
When discussing possibilities of further enhancement of QuickMatch, it was opted that fan-made maps could possibly become part of the map pool. In a few weeks time, a lot of testing and visualizing of over 100 new fan-made maps were combined in a patch and enabled on XWIS.
Up to today, the patch still works, but there is only very few people that have the patch installed. Therefor it's highly unlikely that you'll match on one of these maps, and you might even begin to suspect that it doesn't even work anymore.
Because the last few stages of this project were tackled in a getting-it-done kind of manner, this patch never got as much attention as it deserves. However, the work that has been done is not lost. With a little more care we can get this out of the ground again in no-time.
The goal currently is to get this rate up. In order to accomplish this, I've decided to enhance this patch further. More finetuning on the maps will be done and information on maps will be given more than just an image and a 3-line description.
As you would understand, this patch will never work out as intended without a lot of support from many community members. Therefor I ask to 'spread the word' and link people that play the game to this webpage, for example by putting something in your forum signature.
If you want to suggest a new map, present your own map or help out in any way, please leave me a PM on the strike-team.net boards or post in the 'New maps patch' on the boards, it's in XWIS & XCL General discussion.
